The objectives with SlowFeeding nets for feeders like this are:
- stop the horses from wasting the hay.
- to slow down the horses’ eating speed to a more grazing-like and natural, consumption per hour. Eating loose hay is far too easy, and so is grazing a thick, lush pasture.
- stopping the horses from breaking into the feeder by sticking their heads in under the net.
- making it easy to refit the net after filling the feeder.
All these wishes are quite easy to fulfill with a net specially designed for this kind of use, but more or less impossible with a flat net. If you want happy customers, don’t sell the a flat net to cover the hay, it will never work.
